Employees came across very unwelcoming~ not happy when you bring in clothes. It was kind of a waste of time imo they give you a dollar or two an item and call you to pick up what they don't want. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I definitely would rather just donate clothing to those in need instead next time. Maybe buying at the store would be a different experience, but I personally wouldn't go back again.

(My review is from a year ago, i just realized i never explained the low rating to the business. It may have changed since then and hopefully has).

I have gone to this location a few times, usually only gotten a couple items when I go. I know it’s a store for mainly teen/ young adults so the clothes bought there are “trendy”. My personal opinion, most clothes seemed out of style and seen several items from SHEIN or Walmart brand. I know SHEIN is a super popular online fashion retailer that has a ton of trendy and affordable clothes and home decor, just don’t like how those items get sold for not a reasonable price. But to each their own, I got a pretty cute sweater there that was from SHEIN. Also adding on to that, the shoes the times I have came in and looked around the shoes being sold there were pretty rough looking either dirty or just too used. I always try going there after some time to see if it has improved and it really hasn’t. The vibes there always feel so negative, I never get greeted nor helped. It’s hard to get an employees attention when I need help and whenever I’d go up to them at the cash register area it always has felt like I’m bothering them.

I brought quite a bit of clothes here
Coats, Columbia, Tommy Hilfiger calvin Klein and I also brought some jeans from gap. These clothes doesn’t fit me anymore as I’ve gained much weight unfortunately.
I signed a form they said they’d call me by six pm to let me know within half hour of dropping these off they called to come pick up my clothes I could not believe. Went back girl told me we don’t take inside out clothes they only took 1 Columbia jacket and a Levi jeans…one of the bag NEVER opened same way I packed it and brought it the same I got it back. Still had 3 Columbia jacket that never was worn in that bag and they didn’t even go through that bag. Maybe they are also racist . I had all these brands before I moved here from NY . These prices mean something to me but unfortunately not to them. Will never recommend a black person to go there

I have come to this Plato’s Closet location, many times and have sold many items. I went in there last week to sell some items and the math was not adding up to what I brought in. I called a different location and explain my situation which confirms what I was thinking. One of the cashiers that works at that establishment was trying to steal from me. Tried speaking with the manager, and he became very defensive and rude. I will never step foot in here again. I will more than likely drive all the way to Sarasota to take my business there. So beware. Because he hires thieves and takes their side over the customer

And judging by the “owners” responses - wow. How unprofessional and rude. I think I’ll be taking this a step further.

No. I will not step foot in there. And I cussed at you because YOU sir became unprofessional and wouldn’t let me speak. Tall tale sign was your defensive behavior. I’m good. I don’t want nor need your business. Going to Sarasota (along with the rest of the port Charlotte population you’ve driven away) and doing business with Shawn.

Staff is friendly but don’t waste your time. Brought in a ton of Levi and wrangler shorts some duplicates just different size, gently worn and they took some and denied some. Wasted my time for a $30 offer.

wish i could rate 0. gave multiple chances went to sell my clothes i brought 4 bags and got $4 back ... there was stuff still with a tag? like don't promote to sell to you if u are just gonna be a joke ?

Came to this store for the first time today and was so impressed! The owner was so kind and you can tell he puts a lot of love into his store. Would definitely recommend!

Do not shop here, the won’t take most or all the items! I brought in all name brand items and the refused to take them! Said they need to be turned inside out, and they would take a dress and shirts that still had tags on them! Made me wait forever and then to top it all off they kept a bag of mine, keep in mind I didn’t sell them these items! Almost like they were trying to keep the bag of all name brand jeans without paying me for them! Again I will never sell to them or shop here again
