I was really disappointed by my visit to this vintage store on Thursday 31st October. My friend and I were told we needed to wear masks while shopping, Really? — She said we "needed" to wear masks because "no one wanted to die." It felt extremely condescending and judgmental, especially when we're just trying to enjoy a little shopping experience.

For one, the store is already really stuffy, and adding a mask on top of it made the whole thing uncomfortable. Secondly, it’s 2025 now, and most people have been vaccinated, so pushing this kind of belief onto others is just unnecessary. People should be allowed to make their own decisions without being lectured.

I left after a few minutes, totally disgusted.

It's a shame, because the shop looked like it had some cool items, but this interaction completely soured the experience for us. There are plenty of other places in town where the atmosphere is more welcoming and respectful of personal choices. We won’t be coming back.

Literally the best suit/clothes shop I've ever been to.

I got a beautiful 80's suit and a shirt for £113, and the co-owner Massimo refused to let me pay full price because the trousers need an inch taking off the bottom. Both he and his wife Edyth were attentive, knowledgeable, and took care of the clothes.

Ignore the negative reviews. This is the type of high quality place we've forgotten about to our detriment.

To put it shortly the staff, specifically the woman, is rude and speaks in a manner that makes you feel dumb and a nuisance for visiting the store, I ended up walking out after 5 minutes. She asked if I needed help in a tone that appeared like she didnt want to help at all and when I did ask if she had a collection of bags, the passive agressive tone that left her shocked me — saying there’s bags everywhere, pointing everywhere in a rash manner as if I asked her a wretched question. I felt uncomfortable, especially as the only one in the store with her and nobody wants to thrift in an environment like that.

I just had such an amazing experience buying a suit here. I’d heard lots about it and it lived up to its expectations. The staff are so attentive and passionate about vintage clothing. I can only imagine the negative reviews here are from people who are not open to hearing about fashion and not interested in trusting and listening to the pros. Go in with an open mind and expect to try things out.

I've visited Cenci several times and always get engrossed for hours in this Aladin's cave of vintage treasures. It was top of my list when I travelled from halfway across the world. The owners Dede and Massimo are very knowledgeable and along with their assistants are incredibly helpful. This is paradise for any fashion aficionado.
