If you need something itty bitty or extra large, whatever you need, they’ve got it and for the right price. Love this shop. My buddies from out of town come here every time they are here to ski too

The definition of a local gear shop.

If it's climbing, skiing, backpacking, running or whatever, the staff not only knows the nuance of the sport and gear, but they also send harder than you do! We just ran into a couple of them down in Red Rocks running up multipitch routes - can't say that about the staff at the big stores. We've bought kid's and adult climbing gear, backcountry ski gear, and camping packs here and I always come away feeling like I got a steal. Not to mention, it's worth the 3 hour drive from where we live to have them mount ski bindings. The techs here know what they're doing.

These guys are the real deal! Seriously, cannot recommend them enough.

Great experience here. Had just driven in from LA and did some runs at Snowbasin and hit some rocks that blew out my right ski. The staff got me quickly set up on a new set at a very reasonable price and also got my daughter set up with boots and skis. They didn't try to upsell us and focused on getting what was the best for our needs. Even though it was super busy, everyone was very friendly.

This place is the best. I went in with a friend to find some new skis and boots, not knowing a ton, but the guys there were super knowledgeable and extraordinarily kind, and helped me find exactly what I needed. They pulled out almost a dozen pairs of boots to try, and then let me wear the ones I wanted around the store while we looked at skis. Super fun time and a great experience with them, and got a super good deal on gear. Highly recommend!

Great place once we found it. Putting in just the address didn't do it in Google maps. Changing to the name and starting over did get us there.
Lots of great gear and they have some shoes of mine for Resole. Didn't buy anything on this trip. Hopefully my shoes turn out great, as I haven't used them before. Staff was super nice.

I've watched the Gear Room grow over the years, and believe they are one of the best Ski and Climb consignment shops in the valley! Every time I'm in there the staff is friendly and helpful, and you can tell your around some true mountain experts. Overall great vibe, with a huge variety of products and services to get ppl outdoors. Well done, Gear Room!

I realized the other day that I have never left a google review for one of my favorite places to buy and sell gear. Fact of the matter, I don’t usually write reviews but I want to write this one. I remember googling a place where I could start my climbing journey and purchase some gear and the gear room in SLC appeared in 2015. I remembered thinking what a cool place to buy and sell used gear. Later in 2019, I bought my first ski touring set up in June from the man himself, Kevin. He mounted the skis that day so I could take them to the Tetons for a summer ski. Chris later would give advice on climbing gear and much more. I owe The Gear Room a lot of credit on supporting me and my little family to go on so many adventures. All of Chris and Kevin’s staff are so kind and helpful. Not to mention, pretty rad and down to earth solid individuals. It’s a place for beginners like I was, curious to be more in the outdoors doing rad things. It’s also a place for intermediates, experts and everyone in between to trade in gear and go to the next level. I always stop by this store to check out the weekly merch and to say hi to the staff I can call friends. Thanks Gear Room, you’re what make Salt Lake City home and where the spark of an adventure idea becomes a reality with friendship and gear!
