I don't know why this store has a low star rating. It's honestly always very clean and well organized. We love to thrift and this is one we'll go out of the way for. Not huge, but always manage to spend $100 plus! Lots of quality items. Not picked over like big city goodwill's. Never have to wait in line. Employees are nice and up front parking. If your in town and like to thrift this is a good one.

Most overpriced goodwill I have ever been to. $22 for raggedy jeans?! $5 for cracked/chipped toothbrush holders?! The stuff is DONATED.

On this date 7/29/2024 at around 7:34 pm in Fredricksburg,Tx , I came in to the store and purchased several items and am a regular customer. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with the manager on duty this evening . Although the cashier #126382 was very polite , the manager had an attitude.one item a weather radio which I had the desire to purchase had corroded batteries which I showed the manager and asked I would take a chance purchasing it with a possible discount. The manager sarcastically told me well the batteries doesn’t come with radio, and I replied but the batteries are corroded and there’s a possibility the wires got damaged with the acid that leaked from the batteries. She offered a $1 off from the $4.49 which I decided to changed my mind on it . Then the manager again sarcastically told me , COME BACK TOMORROW AND THEY WONT HAVE THE BATTERIES IN ! With a smirk . I just continued with the transaction and left . As a former mall manager ,customer service was always a key to successful business with returning customers . Unfortunately the manager at this location has no clue nor knowledge of running a business so rudely . I didn’t get her name but has short blonde hair with I believe piercings on her face !

I regret having to give even a single star- almost as much as I regret wasting time going into this store. Most expensive Goodwill store I’ve been to in all my travels. $8-$10 for a used ball cap? $10 for a used shirt? These items are DONATED to Goodwill- they have NO MONEY INVESTED, but they want to take full advantage of customers. Staff was rude too. Would highly recommend NOT going to this location.

After walking through the shops in Fredericksburg my friend and I were very happy with our purchases here. You can easily find the same items that are being sold in town for a fraction of the cost!
The store is clean and well maintained with three very large fitting rooms that make trying on cloths very comfortable!

I come here for the brands and organization. They are overpriced though, even for Goodwills. They are a part of central Yexas Goodwill, so associated with Austin rather than SA. This is why their prices are higher. They also at times post misleading signs and don't honor them. I spend a lot of money here, and use to recommend to everyone so I feel they should have honored the sign put up. The sign is interpreted as 50% off all items, but no sales tags, to everyone I have asked. Since this I have diversified where I shop and find the same brands for less at other local stores. On this day we spent about 200. We would have bought more but it was not honored. I used to work in retail and the custom is to honor discounts when a sign is left up or misposted.

Since I have gotten irritated enough by this, I have started shopping more at other places as I stated. The HCM Hospice store and St. Vincent de Paul have way better prices and honestly the same brands, sometimes better. Plus they actually help people, and the CEO is not making big money. Yes, Goodwill helps people but they could start by paying their employees a living wage. And they could help more people by not being a "for profit" chain.

Found better bargains at Goodwill than at the Fredericksburg antique stores. It is hilarious when I am looking at an item in an antique store and I discover a Goodwill price tag ... which is considerably lower than the new price. Came across that issue last week at an antique store in Concord, New Hampshire. The price of a five dollar doll was marked up to fifteen dollars ... tsk tsk.

I stop in at the Goodwill store occasionally. With few exceptions, the store it clean, tidy and the staff members are friendly.
